CLIP STRIP 1978-79 major The intention was to cover the whole surface with a dense layering of colourful comic clips. I then painted a dense linear grid over selected areas and the result was shown as a work in progress in the 1978-79 Arts Council Tour with Ronnie Forbes. In opening up the painting again, I started to erode the areas of grid with the cream ground and increased the "Men Only" references. Fragments interest me more than the whole image.
