Ze / Palladio 2010 A chance happening in my studio when a cheap portugese panama landed on a paper model of Palladio's Rotondo. The reference to ZE in the title is Ze Pelintra, dark spirit, always with a panama with redband . The painting can be read as my metaphor for " Brazilian Baroque Tropical" where Roman Catholic Architecture meets the exuberance of Africa. |
