TROPICAL FRUITS 1990 This work was painted on the balcony of the Carvalho apartment in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro and completed in my studio. The sunlight was intense and at night in a wooded area opposite I could hear the drums and muffled shouts from a Macumba temple. It was the first still life I had painted since Art College in the mid sixties. |
